Amelia Island 2016

Here's the parking lot at the Gooding auction preview, loaded with old cars. A racing Ferrari casually pulled in and parked a car over from me (note RS Carerra in background), and a couple of perfect 356's on the other side.

Scott, those are great pics thanks for posting. Love the Dutchess, aka the 503 and Dirk de Groen's 328 is magnificent. That's Bill Glavin's CSL prepared by VSR.

Love the prewar cars the Bugatti, Delage and that boat tail Cord are something.

Here's my take on Amelia.
Saturday- Cars & Coffee
Sunday- Concours

Just straight from the camera so some exposures are off a little.

The painted Porsche is the Janis Joplin car.

The M1 and Turbo 2002 belong to Scott & Fran Hughes.
328 to Dirk de Groen.

My M5 was there as was Don Bowers 2800 and Steve Armstrong's 3.0CS.
Also meet Frank Mann and his beautiful coupe. That's his wood dash.

Gary that's awesome, thank you, love the shots. Couple questions, what is that beautiful black car from slides 50-53? Also, what prize did the M1 receive? Was the M1 the only car painted in Henna red? Does anyone know? Looks like it received some sort of overall win. Love all the boat tails too, those are always so elegant looking.

Sorry, meant to put that in about the M1. Award was given by Road & Track Magazine as the car they would most like to drive home. ME TOO!
No there were some E30 M3's and E24's painted Henna.

The black car is a Phantom Corsair. Built on a front wheel drive Cord chassis. It's a 20 footer. Meaning don't look too close. I think it was built
many years ago.

Great pictures. Missed the group dinner but was happy to meet most of the gang on the field. Pleased to see that Don was wearing his Florida Tour shirt:D
