An approximate opinion of value.

I`m not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. If it isn`t please let me know.

While having a car worked on, I came across an early European 3.0CS and a round taillight 2002 tii that have been sitting for quite some time. All the alarm bells started going off, but I already have a couple of CS "before pictures" in my garage so after counting to a hundred, what little bit of common sense I have started kicking in telling me I need to turn my head and keep walking. I`m looking to see if it`s worth my while to go after them with the intent of selling them to help fund my CS`s.

Both are manual, non sunroof cars. Both cars seem to be complete. The 3.0 doesn`t look to have any body damage, and by CS standards, very little rust. The tii has had it`s snout replaced, but seems to be in decent condition. I didn`t take the time to really look it over. I would imagine that both would need total restorations before being put back on the road.

I realize that this is a tough question, but can I talk you out of your opinions as to value?

Hope so,

Thanks,

Doug

I'm a long way away but both are desirable cars.
Have you considered the old 'job lot' price?
You could then keep your pic of the E9s and sell the rest to fund your restoration?

I’m interested shall you want to sell.... or happily pay finders fee.

Hey Floridabmx, Thanks for the response. I'll keep you in mind should everything work out. What I was really looking for was an opinion of value. Thanks though, Doug

I'd be surprised if you couldn't sell the E9 for $20k, maybe much more depending on rust, motor, transmission.

Hey Wes, I`m scared to bring it back to my hoard. I get attached to cars and would end up with three CS`s to restore. If nothing else, I`ve noticed a pattern. Thanks for writing.

Take off the plastic rocker cover panels to see the state of the actual metal outer rockers underneath.

Look into the cavity under the front fenders.

Then check behind fuse box and behind glove box and up under base of windshield with a borescope or your phone.

Then you can get a better idea of what you really have.

A truly rust free project ( a very rare find) could be 20k.

You don't have to tell me mate. I already own 2 E9s and flirting with number 3.
As others have said if the E9 is solid could be 20k. More pictures would be a help.
Not so sure on 2002s in the US, but they are equally desirable here, possibly saleable as more widely known and lower price point for entry. I saw a ratty one here the other day for 16K AUD, that's just under 12k US.

Thanks. Bit by bit, I`m starting to appreciate that I bought mine way back when.

Hey Craterface,

Thanks for the response and the link to the Youtube video Just for poos and giggles, what Alfa`s do you have, or is that just that you like them?

Thanks,

Doug

I think there is some confusion here as to whether the OP is buying or selling these cars, or maybe both. Or even whether the cars are for sale at all.

Both cars are chronic neglect cases so expect to redo everything .. interiors bodies mechanicals ... and the E9 is not complete. Small parts add up, if you can get them. And it's rather obvious that the E9 has a LOT of rust even in places that don't rust first, so expect the worst on that car.

Did Euro E9's have rear side markers like this one? I see none in the front and do see the Euro fog light.

Can we ask what state these cars live in? I ask becasue a neighbor's 23 yo son has eyed my E9 for 2 years and wants to learn how to restore these. I would be his mentor. Such a car would make a nice project for a young and eager lad.

Never. It was added when imported.
