An old friend on BaT, @HB Chris’ former 73 Malaga e9

Wow! It sure brings back great memories for me and I absolutely love Malaga, it makes my Chamonix pale in comparison. Several friends texted me that it was just listed. It was bought from me by Tom Segura although I never dealt with him. I contacted them last month to see if it was available for a friend and it had already sold.

This will be interesting to see how it does.
This seller is up north (near me). They had an E38 750iL on BaT that I looked at back in April.
If someone wanted, I'd offer to go over and take a look at the car in case anyone is interested, but I am in Europe presently. Nutz!!! Would be fun to see this one....

As to value - will be interesting to see how it does compared to before....
Hopefully it does well...

I’m going to go take a look at it on Saturday. Just want to see a really nice in person, contemplating taking on another project…
If anyone wants to give me a call while I’m out looking at it, message me and we can coordinate.

Such a great car. From the 2017 Vintage:

when the malaga color is right, its just such a great color. reminds me of jag's regency red on the e type (that's a little lighter) but both show the curves well. the only issue i've noticed on malaga is some of the paint formulas are too brown of a red. it needs to be clear + deep, like the ex-Chris car and the one that was on BaT recently. having seen the malaga in person, its such a great car ... it will bring the money. they should pay a commission to Chris for associating his name with the car. 2.5% sounds fair

This is an absolute beautiful car. And Chris was kind enough to look at a CSL with me ~two years ago. I was absolutely amazed at his knowledge. This E9 must be just about perfect.

Just went and saw this car in person since it’s about an hour away and I’ve been considering a similar project. It really is beautiful, presents well, engine bay looks perfect. Amazing how nicely that m30b35 sits in there, looks a lot like the CSi 3.0. Interior is quite nice, the perforated/stitched leather on the door panels is extra fine. The guys at the shop there and I all think it will break the previous sale price. Will be interesting to see…

Hard to believe it will break that price in today’s market but who knows? It would be a good sign though!
I agree, but I feel as if between the last two sold by 1600veloce seller - the Malaga a month ago and the Polaris/red a few months back, yours is in many ways nicer than both. Upgraded engine, really nice interior, etc. I suspect that it will be a passion bid by someone who just wants one that is complete and ready to go with absolutely no issues. But that’s just my take - we shall see
