Taken about 20 years ago when they ran a vintage race in conjunction with the Phoenix Grand Prix. And no, I didn't get to buy this one for $200

A friend of mine drove it for the Dr who owned. Yes, I got to drive it, but it scared the crap out of me and I barely even used 2nd gear. It was the car that Niki Lauda won a world championship in, I think the early or mid 70's

Richard Griot's 1975 Ferrari312T driven by Lauda took third at Pebble this year in Ferrari Major Race Winners, looks like the same car, T2? There were five chassis that Ferrari used in 76/77, and the first time a Fiat logo was on a Ferrari!

IIRC, an interesting story here. The man that brought the car in from Italy was an orthopedic surgeon, I believe, in Reno. His secretary worked for Ferrari at some point and had a very good relationship there. Story goes she got the car for the Doc for $125K. Because of his insurance being a surgeon, he couldn't drive the car and my friend Roger drove it for him a lot. Strangely enough, the doc's mechanic was named Bert. Flash a bit forward. There was a group of guys in who would meet in Mill Valley, north of San Francisco, one or two Fridays a month and take a hard run up the coast to Bodega Bay. My friend Roger and the other Bert were in an Alfa and lost the car on a curve and went over a major high cliff. That's where my story ends as I lost any real contact with the story at that point.
