Lovely. Even has the undermotor plastic protector.

One of the nicest to come out of Canada for sure.

Too bad on the repaint under the hood, the insulation pads on the shock towers do not look quite correct. And they look ugly. Best to have just left them off.

Man, that air cleaner is SHINY!

Sux about the weepy rear main seal.

Gorgeous car though.

I'd say RNM at $45k.

This car has been on display in the showroom at 'Weissach', a large Porsche/Lotus specialist in western Canada. It hasn't been listed on their inventory. I've driven by a few times, but haven't seen it up close. The Vancouver island connection is interesting, there are/have been a disproportionately large number of coupes found over there, including mine, (ok, its not mine anymore).

Weissach is going to want all the money for this, that's what they do. In a good way.

Here's I think a more correct looking engine compartment (sheen on air cleaner, shock tower insulation pads):

This looks like a very honest car with a lot to like. I'll be curious to see how the stock engine, still fitted with original Zenith carbs and automatic affect the bids. The older image with two-tone paint looks familiar to me. Does anyone else remember seeing that and, if so, where?

Compared to the 3.2 swapped car in Florida this is a jewel. A receipt for paint in 2016 shows $11,500 USD which, if I'm reading it correctly, indicates what should be a relatively high quality respray.

The Polaris coupe has the correct color air cleaner, the lighting is making it appear brighter than it is. The blue coupe was rattle canned, even the rubber access plug was painted grey.

Hi I am the fellow from RS restoration that did a bunch of work on this car. I did all the carb work and engine work as well as some suspension work. A number of the pictures in the BAT ad are from me when i was sending these to the owner. Nice car

Thanks, Rick

Like a tiger. I’m amazed how well the car goes, in town and on the highway. Drove at 130Kms,( 80mph) to Seattle from Vancouver, over two hours. Smooth as can be.

Gentlemen, if you have a BAT account and like what Mike B and Ruedi had to say, please give it a thumbs up. If I get 5 then the comment becomes highlighted.

Many thanks, Tim.

Anyone “on the fence” and looking to jump into coupe ownership should take a very hard look at this one.

A couple of our forum gurus here have given it their nod of approval, and that is worth its weight in gold - especially when purchasing from afar! I mentioned this on the auction comments as well, however, those that don’t frequent this forum probably don’t understand the true gravity of their backing. These guys usually keep their mouths shut (whether good or bad), however, when they do give an endorsement after working with or viewing a car in person, it really pays to listen!

If you have the money, buy the best specimen you can find. I guarantee it will be the better decision in the long run!

You’re welcome! Best of luck with your auction - I know I’ve told my friend who has been considering a coupe for too many years to put in a bid on your car.

Thinking further on this, I wonder if BAT could add some type of reputation flair/badge like reddit has for subreddit experts. As most BAT transactions are based on faith in the accuracy of the seller’s description, a model specific certified username flair icon could add serious weight and credibility to provided third party commentary and insight on the offering. There are very few gurus that truly know certain models inside and out - it should be easy for a less well versed bidder/viewer to separate out the truly valuable insights and would lead to better auction outcomes all around!

$58k wins it.

Pretty good outlay for a CSA. However, she looks super clean. Just needs to swap in that manual (hope it's a mech speedo) and redo the front seats.
