I've decided to keep my e30, it's a blast to drive and I don't have to worry about parking it in a lot. I might sell it at some point, we'll see. My wife wants her car back in the garage, so the e30 is getting booted. Anyone have suggestions on a good outdoor car cover that will let the car breathe? We're getting very close to rainy season so I have to find something.

Thanks!

i had a california car cover for my e30 m3. i thought it did a reasonable job with a decent fit. the breathable cover does let in particulates and the car isn't that clean when you take the cover off. it did keep sun / rain off the car, but there was some splashing of dirt from the parking area up onto the car when it rained - perhaps better washing of the driveway might have helped.

Buy the best outdoor breathable cover you are able to find, expensive & worth it.

The cheap generic $100 covers are OK for inside storage & will burn marks in the paint if there's moisture against the paint. Happened with my sister in-law's Rolls Royce & Rob Seigel's 1970s Lotus Europa.

If you are able to keep the car sheltered somewhat it will help minimize burning the paint.

Perhaps one of the inexpensive aluminum tent garages would be much more convenient tan dealing with a wet or damp cover.

A little while back people here were kind of excited about the car covers that some company in Spain was making. I did a cursory search and didn't come up with anything right away. I can't remember any specifics about the type or types of covers they make. Not very helpful, but maybe a bit more thorough searching will dig something up.
