Hi everyone,

This must have been asked a dozen of times but I can't find it. The blinker stalk (right side of the steering column on my car) doesn't hold when swithed up or down. Sometimes it barely stays in position.

Is there a way to repair this and is there a write-up available?

I had some luck repairing the high beam dip switch. Operation had become sloppy and once out of the car and on the bench, I found a way to strengthen the weak spots on the casing. Functions as new, been 5 years. Perhaps take it off your car and have a really good look at why the stalk is loose. I bet you can figure s something out. but do let us know! Mike

I tried to repair the small plastic block in the high beam switch but it was useless. I was offered replacements for $400+ from members but founds that the 2002 version was exactly the same and worked well. It cost me €70 new from W&N. It might the same for the blinker switch on the 2002 of the same year so might be worth some research..

I am not sure if this is the best or even an acceptable way to repair the the turn directional but it has worked a couple of years. I am also not sure if your's is the same.
I found some old pics. If I recall there was a notch that I had to deepen with a dremel so it would stay in because over time it had worn (had become shallow) and wouldn't retain the 'pin'. If you remove your switch and move the stalk, i believe you will see this. See if this attachment will help.
