ive been trying to braze my brass coolant reservoir just around the steel brackets and the old solder is evaporating or just sliding under the bracket due to too much heat , i feel like a i need a low melting point solder that can stick to steel and brass and melt smoothly, ive tried like 4 or 5 different types of solder with flux , i sanded the area applied paste ive tried a flux rod , when i attempt it the solder doesn't wanna melt into the area it'll ball up or just not want to stick its pretty frustrating lol . any help is appreciated i don't want to keep melting the old solder away

I was able to flow some of the original solder to get my new "markos" bracket to stay in place. No other solder or flux I tried, worked. On the E3, I used JB weld and so far so good, but I am very careful when opening, not to torque the reservoir.

So few radiator shops left in the northeast...................no cars in the boneyards older than 2000....nothing but plastic and aluminum left here.

Yeah I’m also in the northeast, thanks all for the recommendations I do everything at home I can let you all know what ends up working for me , I’ll be leaving them polished since it was a bit work ,
