A friend and I recently dragged home a thoroughly trashed Bavaria (it's not savable, I promise) that we'll be cutting up after pulling everything we can use. Does anyone need sheet metal? The car has good front fenders, a decent hood, decent doors (some better than others), and a seemingly good roof. C-pillars, floors, and trunk lid are shot. I can post some photos if there's any interest.

Hi!
Could I ask for some photos of the hood, front fenders, and rear end?
I'm starting to build an E3 that has all its lights modified and a very rusty hood.
I don't know if you could also show me the chassis reinforcements.

Thanks!

Hi, it's pouring rain where I am now and the car is in a tent-style carport that makes photos difficult in the low light, so I'll have to wait to get you specifics, but here are a couple from when I picked it up if they help at all. What do you mean by chassis reinforcements? If you're referring to the frame rails, I'm afraid they're pretty well shot.

The hood is pretty decent, some relatively minor rust on the underside. I'll get better and more specific photos once the weather clears up here in a few days. The fenders seem good, as does the rear end with the exception of the trunk lid.

Hi Dave,
It looks pretty solid. I'll wait for better weather to see those photos. My E3 isn't that rusty, except for the hood, which is wrecked at the bottom, and the frame rails.
I was asking about the front fenders and the rear section because on mine, they went to the trouble of adapting E23 taillights and covering the front turn signal holes to replace the bumper with an E12 one. I don't know if it was to "modernize" the car, or because they couldn't find or import parts back then. It's a very rare car in my country.
My idea is to use older taillights, which are longer, so I understand your rear section wouldn't work for me.

Regarding the front fenders and hood, I'd like to see them in more detail, but perhaps because of shipping costs to Argentina, I'd prefer to order the pieces I need rather than the complete parts. I'm not sure how convenient that would be for you, though. The parts look to be in very good condition. I don't know if you also sell parts like the front bumper or the front turn signal housings.

I'm sending you photos of my project so you can better understand what I'm talking about.

Regards, Lean

Hi Lean, here are some photos of underside of the the hood for now, with closeups of the worst of the rust.

I'm keeping the front bumper, but happy to sell you the turn signal housings (though I need to make sure they're in usable shape). I'd hate to cut up the fenders, but maybe I could make some templates of the turn signal holes for you, or fabricate smaller sections including the openings?

Hi Dave,
Perfect! I'm really interested in those turn signal housings, even though they're broken. If you have them complete, they'll be a great start.
You'd be doing me a huge favor by taking measurements of the turn signal positions; that would help me a lot.
Regarding the hood, it's in much better condition than mine. Mine is practically wrecked and will be very difficult to rebuild.
Would you be willing to cut the hood and send me that lower part?
What price would you be willing to accept for this "half hood" and the turn signal bases?
I look forward to your reply, and thank you very much!
Regards, Lean

I'd be happy to make tape templates of the fenders where the signal housings go... that should get you a pretty accurate indication of where to cut. I'll pull the housings soon and send photos. When you get a chance, can you send me a photo indicating where you'd like the hood to be cut?

Hi Dave, I hope you're doing well!
Perfect, those templates will be a great help. I plan to start working on the car's bodywork in a few weeks, so it's not too urgent.
Regarding the hood, I'm sharing some more detailed pictures showing how far the rust extends on mine. I think cutting it about 25 to 30 centimeters before the bottom edge would be fine. Or, if you prefer, cutting it along the inner line I painted purple in the last picture (rust 7) would also work—whichever is easier for you.

OK that makes sense! The rain has died down a bit here so sometime soon I will remove the turn signal housings and send some photos of those. Do you have any thoughts about shipping?

Hey Dave!
Awesome! Looking forward to those cases. Regarding shipping, the only time I've received anything from the US was through an eBay purchase. Perhaps we could get a quote via DHL, or buy it through eBay.
The address would be Berazategui, Buenos Aires, Argentina, postal code 1884.
PS: If you're not going to use your horn, I'd be interested in those too.
