Atlantik Blau E9 on eBay

This car could really benefit from a professional photographer. Seriously seller, how well do you think your car will sell with motorola razor phone pics?

totally agree Mark ... needs some very good photos. looks to be a very solid car in nice shape. would like to see some under car / under hood / inside of trunk pics.
not sure why the drivers floor mat is moved so far forward - hiding something? i do like atlantik.

be curious to see if he gets the starting price or higher. it is basically stock - no brake upgrades, still has 4 speed, original engine ... not sure how accurate 59k actually is. no vin# in ebay auction ... to determine if it was original manual tranny or to see if it is in the registry.

This has been for sale for a while on eBay. I finally got photos last week - it needs a lot of work and is overpriced by $15k in my opinion. I will try to post photos at some point.

would love to see the pics Alan, and know what kind of work it needs. when you compare the verona that coupeking recently sold, that really needed everything to be more than a basic driver, it reached 32k ... so for discussion purpose, let's use that as a baseline for a solid driver coupe.

so if this car has rust or in need of significant body work, then it is easy to say its overpriced. i dunno, as i haven't seen any of the pics that might show that. if not, i wouldn't think it would be 15k over, when you compare to the recent verona sale. when i first looked at the few pics offered, my thought was 40k, mainly because it doesn't have any upgrades or doesn't indicate that the stock mechanicals have been gone through. do i hope he gets 47k+ for a 2800cs ... yes, i do.

Here's a link to what I received. The car has had a color change from Fjord blue. You can see some of the Fjord sprayed in the trunk - suggesting it has been painted multiple times. The engine bay suggests it might have been black. It looks decent overall but I would assume the paint is not great. I don't like the wood trim and the air intake missing the connection piece under the hood was another flag.

I don't think the current market supports $40k+ for a car like this. There will always be some outliers but I think this car is still low 30's.

the black in the engine compartment always gives me great moments of pause. i don't think of color change because of that ... i always think something is being hidden. it also makes me wonder why the stickers are placed over that ... or is it just very oxidized atlantik.

admittedly the trunk is not in that great of shape
- the rear trunk liner panel is missing
- the elephant skin looks rough
- no shot of the spare tire well
- no tool box or surrounding trim panels
- the overspray at the hinge side of the trunk lid makes me wonder about rust repair / cover up under the rear windshield. the overspray is shown on the rear wheel arch covers, which is odd and careless. (do you know for a fact that it was fjord at one time)

exterior
- the paint reflections look pretty good and the panels looks smooth, which is very positive
- the passenger door / right behind the door has a slight wave to it

interior
- i agree, don't like the wood, seems right for a jag, not a coupe
- as previously mentioned, the drivers floor carpet is misfitted and i wonder if it is hiding something.
- it seems to be missing the chrome trims at the back side of the front kick panels

i would like to see pics of the underside (the floor) and the fender wells. i would like to see pics of the back side of the firewall (inside of the gloveboxes) to see the factory gray color and not signs of rust. i would also like to see the spare tire well and the underside of the parcel panel (in the trunk) to determine if they covered up rust due to rear wind screen gasket leak or a bad trunk gasket. if the engine / suspension / brakes are survivors without significant refurbishment, that would be a concern affecting value. to me these are the determining factor if it is a 40k+ coupe or a 30k coupe.
