Australian CSL

Hey Aussie

Besides steering wheels and you blokes driving on the wrong side of the road, do cars rust down under or is the climate such that you don't have that problem?
PS.........Keep sending Elle McPherson's up this way! Great export.......

elle

haha,

yes elles not bad.... getting a bit long in the tooth now though....

rust seems to depend in what state the car has lived.... a bit like california having a lot of survivors.

From what i have noticed recently, these cars are starting to do a bit of travelling in their lives, from owner to owner and place to place, so theres nothing like checkin it out...

Cheers

Australian csi

Don't know about CSIs but my 2800CS was delivered from Germany straight to Melbourne in 1971. Rust does exist here and CSs suffer worse than other cars (except maybe Fiats). However I owned a 72 CSA which lived in England for about 10 of it's first years and it had rust in places I have never seen rust. 10 times worse than my CS.

I believe this CSI is the very same one featured in Classic and Sports Car mag cover not that long ago! Bought by an ex-pat Adelaidean from 4Star Classics and brought back to Melbourne.
