I thought it would be interesting to know how many other Australian E9 owners are involved with this Forum?
If you have a Coupe lets hear about it and what part of Australia you are from, what car club membership (if any) you hold.

If you have the know how lets see some pictures of your pride and joy no matter what state of repair or disrepair its currently in.

It would be great to try and organise an E9 get together some time, like the guys in Melbourne managed to do earlier this year. All we have to do is plan ahead!

Hey there - I'm down in Melbourne - probably about 15-18 coupes that I am aware of down here - not sure how many are members on the site.

There is another Melbourne run being lined up for Sunday 14th Sept I understand - probably 08:00am departure out through Marysville for lunch somewhere - don't know the details yet.

Did you just pick up your Ceylon E9 from Melbourne - I heard a Ceylon one had been bought by someone in QLD a couple of month ago ??

Have recently posted some pics on my E9 in the forum with the 17 Alpinas so won't repeat here but will try to get some pics of the cars on the road from the 14/09 any decent shots I will load up.

If you ever get to Melbourne look us up - good to share a beer...or two

Hi Tony,
Yes I was admiring the pictures you had posted earlier.
Good to know there is a good number of E9 owners in Melbourne and actively organising events. Yes I purchased the Ceylon CS from Melbourne a few months back and getting it into better shape in my spare time. I will actually be close to Melbourne at Phillip Island over the weekend of the 14th, but without an E9. However if there is snow in the mountains perhaps convince the gang to head the other way to the Motor racing!
Im looking forward to seeing some pictures of the E9 get together and the cars that are there for the drive.

Matt,
Nice to see a picture of your beauty, and I hope the new engine is a nice improvement. Are you doing the instalation yourself?

Thanks to you both for getting in touch and adding to this post!
How many more Aussie E9's are out there?

My car and parts thereof

Hello Scott and Matthew, here are a couple of photo's of my E9, bought in Tasmania this year and driven back at a great rate of knots, so much fun to drive that I didn't want to stop.
Doing all the work myself so won't be 100% but it should look good in Chamois.
Matthew, would you let me know what the offset and or which model the wheels are from on your magnificent car.
Regards Dave.

Hi Folks,
I am a new member to the forum as I have just recently bought my E9 coupe. I literally found my E9 by mistake. I was going to see a car for a restoration project with my friend Tony following me in his E9. I took a wrong turn down a dead end street and guy who happen to be walking his dog ask Tony to pull over to tell him his girl friend had a similar for sale. Sure enough I bought the car. It was a lucky wrong turn.
Sor far I've had a second hand transmission installed, a tune a great deal of cleaning and polishing and she's on the road. I still have a long journey ahead and looking forward to learning from the expertise from the E9 community.
I've got a silver 73 3.0 CS auto with alot of original features. Interior has been redone and is in need of a paint job. So I'm joining the search for parts to get her looking neat.
I hope to post some pics real soon.
Cheers

Welcome Orge!
Well it sounds like you and your E9 were meant to be together, destiny by the sound of it. What parts are you looking for first? Will you paint your CS in the same silver or do you feel like a change? what is the bodywork like, is there any rust?
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your car when you can get them posted.
Scott

Hi Scott,
My coupe is in pretty good shape body wise. Just a couple of rust bubbles starting to appear at the bottoms of the front guards. Missing the chrome strips along the bottom of the car b/n the wheel arches. Most of the chrome looks fine. I need to get some windscreen rubbers for both front & back, they're looking a bit raggered. Hoping to keep the original color for now. I've just ordered some Alpina like wheels from the States. Hoping to get some photos up soon. I'll be joining the guys on the run this weekend

Actually looking forward to the whole restoration thing.
Cheers Orge

Aussie Coupe

Hi Scott,

I'm sure there are other coupes in Sydney but I never see any.
Mine is a 1971 Australian delivered 2800CS, Chamonix.
3.5 engine, triple Webers, 5sp Getrag close ratio, LSD, Konis etc. 7 & 8x15 wheels(Simmons).
It had a bare shell restoration from when I bought it in 1986 and saw the road for the first time in 1998.

Hi Andrew & KD,

Both very nice looking Coupes! I must say KD your Chamonix car driving around Eastern Creek circiut looks great. After lots of years of effort you have yourself a fine example.

Andrew, How long have you owmed your coupe? Looks very original and in excellent condition. Have you always lived in Rocky? Do you bring her down to Brisbane anytime?

Cheers for your contributions

Scott
