Australian E9 Owners tell us about your cars (pictures too)

Hi Andrew & KD,

Both very nice looking Coupes! I must say KD your Chamonix car driving around Eastern Creek circiut looks great. After lots of years of effort you have yourself a fine example.

Andrew, How long have you owmed your coupe? Looks very original and in excellent condition. Have you always lived in Rocky? Do you bring her down to Brisbane anytime?

Cheers for your contributions

Scott

Scott, it is a coupe that I have known for a while and recently purchased only a few months ago. It is in excellent condition with a very wealthy previous owner who went to great lengths to keep it in good order. It has just been a trying time to get it to 100%. Currently I have had 3 attempts at getting the rear ride height set before just putting the rear original and sagged springs back in......But everything I am doing is a positive step to keep it as original as possible.

Thanks for your comments, i will get some more shots when I get better organized. I dont get to Brisbane with the car often as a Rocky bloke myself, but it has done 1 trip and amazed me how driveable it was.

Cheers

Another E9 in Brisbane

Hi Scott,

I am also in Brisbane and have a 74 3.0CSI. Mine is in need of TLC. Have had it for about 15 years and have been a bit reactive with it since the family arrived.

I am also a member of the club in Brisbane...thought I was the only E9 owner as nobody knew what is was.

Mine is definitely a WIP. I do most of it myself as over the years I have found it is too hard for most mechanics.

Currently working on suspension issues and getting the heights correct.

Sounds like Andrew (OZCsi) has been enjoying the same issues...we exchanged emails recently on this subject...he sounds like he has it sorted.

Stay in touch...would like to exchange notes on parts sourcing.

Cheers

Got all the spring work done at Dobinsons in Rockhampton, they turned the springs around ( reset) in a few hours. Very happy with ride height and general ride now. Plus put the new bilsteins in while I was at it!!

Cheers

Hi Scott,
I own the other coupe that was owned by the late Ron Thallon. I bought the car about 9 yrs ago, its a '74 CS with a 3.5 ltr, Aust delivered and currently Hennarot in colour, originally Turkis. My other coupe, as seen in the middle of the picture on BMW Club Qld site is (was) my car too. It was totally destroyed in a bushfire in Oct 2003. That car was an English delivered CSi and was exported to Australia when it was 12 months old.

My remaining Coupe hasn't been registered since 2003, but just requires a Safety Cert before I can.

Cheers,
Al
