Auto trans from '73 cs - FREE in Orange Cty, CA

I just converted my e9 to a 5speed and don't know what to do with the original Automatic. The car had 144k original miles and the transmission was shifting perfectly when I did the conversion. It did leak a little trans fluid (and a mechanic once told me the rear seals should be replaced. I would be happy to give it to a fellow board member if it's worth coming to collect it in Orange County.

I have all of the interior parts, which I'll take photos of and post for sale for good prices soon (Auto shift surround, shifter, brake pedal, etc.)

If the trans is worthless, any tips on where to take it/scrap it?

I have one in Santa Paula CA (Ventura county) as well if someone needs one......out of my 73 CS.
Worked fine when removed......etc....

out of curiousity - do any other auto trannies (e12, e24, e28) fit into the e9? if CDM needs another box + can't afford to do a 5spd swap ... perhaps it would be easier to find a more available box.

if they don't fit, then he might be able to find an e3 box ... perhaps more of them around.
 
Do you still have transmission ? I have a friend who lives in Glendale who can pick it up and ship it to atlanta for me Please let me know . Jeff

time running out. Got to hand this Auto trans off...

Maybe I'll call it a "girlfriend bump", but my lady wants this auto trans out of the garage. Please someone come to Costa Mesa (Orange County) and take my Auto trans away for free.

First come first gets it. Thanks for everyone who has replied, but now it's on its way out the door.

Jeff in Roswell, GA, does your friend in Glendale sill want to come and get it to send to you? That's very nice! Is be happy to meet him and hand it off.
