Hi , my 1970 e9 2800 csa came to me with the rear automatic badge missing so brought one on ebay only to find out that it has 3 fixing pins and I only have 2 holes on car of difference centre's to any of the 3 pins on the badge I brought. Does anyone know if early cars had only two fixing pins on the automatic badge as opposed to 3, maybe difference between early and late cars

Early badges are longer in length and placed on the right side above the tail light. Later styles sold on eBay are for later models that are shorter and sits on the trunk itself on the left.
Early ones are hard to find new. At least I couldn’t find them. I ended up polishing my old one and shelve the new one I bought on eBay.

This is the original one that was on my car with correct positioning and size.
