Just to let you all no that they finally let me out of hospital. What a awful few weeks its been for my family, what looked like being a normal week end went completely wrong. It all started on the Friday......
I spent Friday putting up new ceilings in the house, pretty hard work but well used to it, I`m 43 and pretty fit or so I thought. I woke up early Saturday looking forward to taking the family to the football match, decided to do a few hours building before we went out. 10 mins into it my arm ached that much I couldn't stand the pain followed by tooth ache in one side of my mouth. Decided to drive to the doctors and when we got there they were closed. My wife decided to dial 999 for an ambulance while I sat quietly in the doctors car park.
The ambulance arrived I felt better , started to say I was sorry for calling them and wasting there time and I got a real sharp pain in the chest, heart attack number 1. They got me wired to all the machines and my heart decided to go in arrest and it took a bit to long to restart it. I came round with some guy pumping my chest ( he broke 2 ribs.. but saved my life). They got me to the hospital and I crashed again after my heart went in to VF ( i think thats what its called) when all the valves in the heart just open and close in random order, they then had to shock me with the electric pads and lucky for me it worked and my heart regained a steady beat.
According to the doctors i am very lucky to be alive as only 5% of people survive and out of the 5% only 60% make it past the next 24 hours. My chances were that slim they left me hard wired to the cardiac shock machine for 48 hours.
The worst of it is it doubtful I will ever be able to drive again due to complications but I`m just glad to be alive. going to have to find some new hobbies that dont involve cars when I`m up and about again in around 3 - 4 months time.
