A reoccurring problem started a couple days ago. When I turned the ignition key to start the car, sometimes nothing happens (car does not start). And then on the 5-10 turn the car starts. Pretty random. Is this the sign of a bad ignition switch or something else? Thanks....BOB

Does anyone know the color of the two wires on the ignition switch harness you would attach a starter switch to on a '74 to bypass the ignition switch?

May need to push the key in as it is turned.

W-N has locksets with two pairs of keys. Did this when my ignition switch gave out.

It should be red to black as black goes to the starter and red is always hot, green gets power from the switch itself. Have Jim at Mesa get you a new switch. Give me a call.
