I bought two new badges, box says 51145480181 which supersedes 51145081751. RealOem does NOT show this for an E9 but W&N does (apparently others have noted this) . Fits front or back. It does fit into the base I have for the trunk. The ones I have are both marked 00095808114 which are not showing up in W&N or RealOem.

Finally, I have two emblems marked 00095808103. Both original, one from my E9 and one from my E3. Neither one had a base to it. The e3 is June 72 car, the e9 a 73 car.

So I plan to use my base and the 181 for the rear, the 103 alone for the front. I am not looking to make a concourse car, just correct car. Correct?

BTW, 511141920776 is a plastic CS badge that Bav Autosport sent me a while ago, I was wondering why it did not cover the holes in the trunk, Guess I am now searching for what I really need, 51141816995

House of Confusion:

when i replaced mine
one was a 1/4" millimeter to big to fit in the chrome base
so i precisely turned it on a bench grinder
it worked out really well and looks oem
fairly happy with them

Will be looking to replace mine ‘72 July E3 so please keep this post alive

I did the exact same thing on mine

There will be a badge hoarder out there for you. Rephrase your Treasure of the Sierra Madre, copied in Blazing Saddles thread title, ( as much as I liked it ), and ask for exactly what you want.

Eg. WTB Emblem badge 51141816995

I reached out to Koopman (AKA my BMW search engine) for the "CS" badge=51141816995, if no go, then onto the Parts WTB section..but if anyone has a nice "CS" for sale, feel free to let me know.

Not a hoarder, 35 years of BMW's. My wife redid many that were worn and in the pic as I was still able to get new oem ones back then, not so easy these days.

My e9 came with zero anything on the boot, badge holes covered etc. New boot during restoration and in search of. Got all but the "CS". Surprisingly, the orig hood badge was there and in nice shape so it stays. My restoration is extensive but my philosophy was/is to use all the non-mechanical parts I could that came with the car.
