ball joint taper?

Can anyone comment on what degree of taper the ball joints are ? 10 degrees?

I'm not sure what you mean by 'ball joint taper'. The ball joint is a ball - spherical, I believe the term for a tapered suspension joint 'in the old days' was king pin. Is that what you mean?

He's referring to the attaching shaft.

That's correct Mike. I figured someone on this board might already know the taper. 7-10 degree taper seems pretty common.
