Pictures of the rotisserie body and pain, strong documentation...$50k out of the gate, and no wonder!

Agree. Will be surprised if it does not easily break 6 figures. Of course the screwdrivers are green not red!

Surprised that it did not go higher or that reserve was too high? I was surprised it did not go higher. The $75K one two days ago was not nearly as nice IMHO.

This silver CSi way nicer than the $75k black CS. However, silver doesn't always POP and generate a ton of bids like it should.

Although I noticed a 71 280SL silver one went for $135k, so maybe it's the color plus the car.

And...that white E9 went for $114k that was not stock at all, but it had BBS RS wheels. ;)

The car is thirty minutes from me, and I have been around this car since the start of the body restoration, maybe 20 years ago...the then owner wasn't a bmw guy but was a paint/body guy that paid attention to details. Was a good car a few years ago, and current owner took it to a better level. I thought that it was an honest $85K car. Less was a great deal for the buyer, anything above more than $85 would have been a better deal for the seller. Yes, our coupe prices have strongly escalated, but we're now talking prices that, IMHO, are for a really special coupe. I'll bet they negotiate to $90 without the BAT fees.

I also expected it to sell for much more because of the recent sales on BAT. The black coupe had visible rust which as we know is likely an expensive fix. I’d prefer this coupe to the one that sold for $150k a few months ago.

I am surprised this car didn't reach $100,000.00. Is this a sign of the times? Covid uncertainty? Looming stock market crash? Erectile distinction?

But seriously, I think we are experiencing a little market uncertainty. This car should have sold or at least have been bid towards the higher side of the scale.

The vagaries of BaT? It happens with no logical reason. Cars that have obvious issues sell for huge money, and yet others in much better shape, struggle to get bids...

Or, as Michael suggested, it's ED...

I’ve observed this as well. Polaris cars don’t do well on BaT. In fact, no Polaris auction has ever broken the $85K glass ceiling, despite the high number sold on BaT.
