BAT Mystery e9

A photo of my presumed original vinyl herringbone pattern seats. Car is a relatively early 1971 North American delivery 3.0CS. Sorry for the lousy image. I happened to be sitting in the car during the end of the auction and was texting with @Markos at the time.

By the way, the vinyl is pretty supple.
Built 1/21/72 for the US so a little rare that it has vinyl, it would be very common if Canadian delivery which it is not.

Hi Chris. Are you saying this is the build date for my car? That seems to late for a 1971 MY.?. Also, how do we know if a car is Canadian delivery? Would it have a different VIN preface? Thanks!

I have the build date from BMW to Hoffman, 2240142. All US 3.0 began with MY 1972, there are no 71s.
Blown away. And I do not understand why so many of the early 2240xxx cars were "called" 1971 (in the Registry, and on the title of this car for example). Is there more to the story Sorry for hijacking this thread.
