I need to replace my coupes battery are there any recommendations? I was giving thought to a Optima red top, reviews seem equally hot or cold, any thoughts?

I'm with Stevehose - have been using Optima red tops for years. They don't look very original, but don't leak and seem to hold up well even when used infrequently.
i love Optima batteries - had one in my e30 m3 ... didn't put one in my coupe, i just went with a Bosch because it was available locally in the right size. the only Optima locally available was one of the Optima batteries that could be used with top or side terminals .... and i didn't want that version. as i remember, the shipping of the individual optima batteries created many of the negative comments on the Optima batteries. might be different now ... but that's the way it was 4 years ago and i needed a battery right away.
