Bavaria color choices--stay original or . . .

I am an original kind of guy--but my 72 Bavaria is white--and I am not a white kind of guy. I know paint is a personal choice--and the Bavaria white seems to have no pop to it--but maybe it is because it has faded out. It was resprayed at some time--but it does have a few rust areas that I have to get fixed. They are extremely minor as it has been a west coast car its entire life.

I attached a pic of the car. The interior is blue--but the seats are shot. I do have a set of E38 black sport seats--if I want to change to black--but . . .

I also like the idea of staying with a BMW color. If I stay with white--the 04 E46 M3 White is pretty nice--but looks a little like "white out". The third picture is a pearl white that I have always liked--but who knows what color that is??? The late '90's Cadillac Seville STS had a nice pearl white. I am also a blue fan. The fourth picture is one of my favorite blues--it is called Ardesia Metallic. I don't actually like it on the Fiat--but it is a great color. One of my other color choices is a BMW dark grey. I am open to just about anything.

Thoughts?

Nice blue...

I wish I had seen the Ardesia Metallic blue before I painted my coupe. I think that would really look good on a coupe (and Bavaria as well).

I've always liked the pearls as well, but I think they are too far away from the "period" paints and colors BMW offered at that time. Pealrs are also a 3 step process (sometimes 4) so doing spot repairs on them (in the future) would make them a PIA.

It took me months to decide on a color...I eventually decided on metallic Granarot (sp?) which may or may not been a coupe option.

Good luvk on your choice

Chamonix is such a nice creamy white and it looks good, much better than modern arctic whites if you stay with white. It's much easier to keep clean too. If you change colors Baikal is my favorite but a tan interior really sets it off nicely. If you go modern consider using one of the BMW medium silver grey colors ala e39.

keep it white...

A fresh and correct white will look great on that car and it will grow on you. As Chris said, Chamonix is a great white and it will set off the bright work nicely. Plus, white is a classic German competition color.

Anthracite

Goes correctly with a tan interior (my fiest E3).
It'd look odd with a blue interior.

Polaris is my favorite E3 color.

Go with Chamonix. I had a '70 2002ti in Chamonix which is now back in Switzerland doing historic rallyes. Paint is original and it still looks great.

My present 2800 Bavaria Alpina is Baikal Blue Metallic. Beautiful, but the Chamonix is still my favorite for BMW's of the time.

Used to have an E3 - 3.0 S in dark metallic blue with Alpina wheels - a real stunner.
