I am looking for the chrome door sills for my new-to-me 1973 Bavaria. I knew when I bought it the clamshell was empty except for bulbs and fuses. So I am interested in filling the shell. I am not looking for perfect replacements. The red handle screw drivers and other tools can be less than perfect. Actually, much less than perfect.

I will be posting in "New Members" as Bavariaboy as soon as I have photos and the "story". I sold my last coupe four years ago and CSteve just does not fit anymore.
 
Hi Steve. I have a bunch of tools for the E3 -E9 clamshell. I will send photos sometime today.

Careful with the mouldings, "Decor. cleat, entran. inner" in BMW speech. The rear ones on FB should fit the long version. Compare to the ones in the picture. Dashboard seems September 1974 or later. Does not matter, it looks nice from a distance.

The thin black plastic piece is what I need. Probably have to fab from something similar.

You mean the thin rubber profiles that run along the edges? Interestingly W&N sell them for the front mouldings but not for the rear. So far I have not found them as running meter. If you do, please tell everybody.
Or do you mean the biscuit-shaped rubber inserts? Seen some that lost about 1 cm in length on an Italian car a few weeks ago. Probably the heat. Unbelievable. Discontinued long ago. Nearly all non-Bavaria E3 USA versions had them. Maybe find a ruined late car?

Thanks, I ordered from BMW Monterey. Hope they still have them. It’s unbelievable that they have the fronts available and then, not the rears. Of all the parts that you might expect to be available,such as the rear window sealing, you find oddballs like this.
I knew I needed them when I disassembled the car, but I hadn’t really started to search for them as there were many items of more import.

I don’t think you’re going to find these in a strip like WNN was selling for the moldings on the side of the exterior. They appear to be specifically made for each aluminum piece as the ends larger than the middle. I ordered four, because as I look at they can be easily cut and spliced. A very sharp, razor blade and the 3M instant adhesive produces an almost invisible splice.
