Belly Trim hardware

Does anyone have a good source for the belly trim nuts and bolts?

I thought I remembered someone sourcing these made with stainless steel (??)

Do they come with rubber washers (to protect the paint) or is that just another thing I dreamt up?

You are referring to the Belt Trim. They are held on by a T shaped bolt and a nut with a rubber faced washer. These are available from BMW and even after 30 years mine were easy to remove. Carl Nelson sells plastic spacers to hold the trim away from the body but they will be visible I think. The toughest one to remove is the rear quarter panel under the C pillar area reached from the trunk.

The e-bay seller "RIMSPOKE" sometimes offers those t-bolts remade out of stainless steel on e-bay. I purchased a set from him about a year ago.
