guys,

i ordered new belt trim t-screws and nuts (51135780115). i know the nuts are supposed to have a flared edge with a rubber washer. well tomkinson shipped me standard m4 nuts. when i questioned them, they indicated that the nuts have been discontinued and this is BMW's substitution.

so obviously i am not happy about this as i don't like the idea of putting standard nuts in that location. so the only option i can think of is putting generic rubber fender washers in between the nut and the fender. anybody got any better ideas?

I have pile of original fasteners in a variety of conditions, perhaps I can help.

Pm me with your email and I will send pix of what I have

The nuts are available from Walloth.
9 mm with captivated metal washer with secondary rubber washer.
Mine arrived Wednesday.
Paul Cain has the engineered plastic shims or offsets to keep the trim
from wrecking your paint.

If I remember correctly there are 45 "t-bolts and rubber guarded nuts" that hold on the trim. I got mine from La Jolla, in stock- 3 days priority mail. Not sure if Don's link offers better pricing, after all he is the king!

As of last week LJI was out of stock for nuts. Worth another call.
