Bent wheel rim - cause?

I doubt that you will have trouble finding a single out there, but if so, I have several. None are concours; but several probably only need a clean-up, a scruff, and some paint, if that...

FWIW, my comment was based on scanning the marketplace just about daily. Slotted alloys may not be valuable, but they are rare. If you think about it, you have a limited number of places to find E9 parts. The main ones are:

e9coupe.com
eBay.com
Craigslist.org

As mentioned, a want ad on here will quickly produce some offers. We have the wheels in storage, not on the market. I have four...

It is already difficult to find a single wheel on Craigslist. Most people sell a set. Now try to find a rare wheel in your town, or search the country and ask to ship. I search all US cragslist and don't find slotted alloys. I've found a few sets of 20 spoke factory fps alloys.

EBay is a good option for single wheels or sets of two. Now go to eBay and observe that there is only one set of four going for $400, and the sale has relisted about 8 times.

EBay.de is your best option other than this site. Just be prepared to spend as much or more on shipping than you do on the wheel. Also note that most international sellers that will voluntarily ship worldwide can already be found on eBay.com

So I stick by my claim, they are hard to "find". Just ask for one...

If you really need something important like a wheel, dial up carl nelson or Peter S the coupeking. That way it's checked out before shipping unlike someone unloading on craigslist or ebay.
