That's my 1990 RC30. Virtually brand new with 240 klms on the clock. It's no longer a motorcycle, it's an artefact.

I Restored a 69 650 Triumph Tiger in 2015. It was flooded in 4 feet of water during hurricane Sandy in 2012. Engine was bore to 750cc Super light and quick. The brakes left a lot to desired. Still a pretty bike and never marked it’s territory. Sold 2019.

My Harley Heritage Softail. Super reliable and did not leak. Sold 2020

Since we’ve moved to the Jersey Shore and I have reduced garage space this is what I kept.
72 Honda CL175.
Great for tooling around a flat beach town in the summer.
I’ve since installed side cover and a period correct “luggage” rack with back rest.

i had all kind of Jap bikes in the ' 70's ... later on also but not at that rate... Yamaha 750, Dominator etc... had a HD Fatboy a long time ....ending with a Guzzi 1200 . I once collected the same bikes as i had in '70s ... but sold them meanwhile. Just taking space and gathering dust.

One of the best looking motorcycles ever made and that sound!
If you ever see one in person you will be amazed at how small they are. First of the "big bang" engines with a 360 crank and a 90-270-90-270 firing order to produce that unique droning sound.
Check Helmut Dahne's lap of the Nurburging in 7.49 in 1993. That record is still current because officially sanctioned events for motorcycles can't be held there since 1994 for safety reasons. It's not the safest of tracks for bikes. Used for years after production at the Isle of Mann.
Each bike was hand built at Honda Racing Corporation ( HRC ). There's a great, if somewhat stylized, Youtube video of some of the build process.

I wonder what a car equivalent would be? Needs to be something exotic as the RC30 had titanium conrods, gear driven cams, race chassis, hand built, etc.

I still have the original 31 year old tyres on it! Alas the bike is not original as I have had to replace the clutch cover gasket and change the fluids. There goes tens of thousands of dollars in provenance.

I am happy to see a lot of the other e9 enthusiasts share my passion for bikes. I was able to acquire a couple older BMW bikes, one by accident and one intentionally. They are beautiful works of art. Originally the idea was to keep them and use them in a cool photoshoot when all the cars are done, because driving a bike in California is like being in a videogame, but now I am itching to ride them come Summer. There was a local guy here in OC who had a warehouse full of vintage motorcycles and i fell in love with a 2 stroke Japanese Bridgestone that started on its first kick and I had to grab it. Here is my small collection...

Was out yesterday driving around downtown Toronto on the Yamaha WR250R. Knobbies, 300 mile range. All set for the trans America Trail...... I think I'll go to Starbucks instead. Kids really like this bike. One special thing about it is that it has a very big stator for a dirt bike and can power heated clothes, seat, lights and even charge my Cpap machine. Took it down to the Toronto Multi Hull boat club to help a Buddy out.

After, went back to his place and got his Ninja ZX14R out off his kitchen, into his backyard and fired it up. I get to drive this bike when I want. It will either kill me or make me immortal. 0-60...2.6 seconds.

Back in my workspace, I have a lot of taken apart Japanese bikes from the late 70's/early 80's.
I am very excited about this Canadian spec RD400F that will hopefully be running soon. The one beside it is a 1982 Yamaha 650RJC and beside that one is an 84 Honda VF500f. Two are worth the price of a leather Petri and the RD400f should be worth about the price of some 911 Rims .

For Touring, and the daily driver of the fleet I have a 2017 Suzuki Vstrom 650. Just a great, comfortable, practical, inexpensive and fun bike. Could go anywhere and take all the stuff you need with you..

"got his Ninja ZX14R out off his kitchen ".

I'm guessing your friend is single?

Off road bikes are so high now. I'm 5"6' so I would have to dismount at every stop light.
