Bilstein Shocks on eBay

Thanks for the Interest

It looks like there is a lot of local interest, so I don't think it makes sense to try to ship these to the UK. I don't really know what these are worth so I would rather not make a buy it now quote or presell these in advance of the auction in fairness to other watchers. Why not bid to what you are willing to pay, now or nearer the close?

LaJolla Springs and Shocks

I do have an earlier run of the LaJolla lowering springs on my coupe (as well as the LaJolla/Suspension Techniques sway bars) and used them with these shocks that are for sale, and they worked very nicely with those springs.

I now have the new Bilsteins from LaJolla that are now sold with their lowering kit with these same springs and sway bars. These new shocks are stiffer, a little too stiff for my taste. They will probably loosen up over time, otherwise I would likely do the work to go back to the older shocks that I am selling even though changing the fronts is a bit of work. I hope to put another 60K miles on my coupe which should be good for my next 20 years! Only time will tell I guess if I am making the better choice to keep the new ones installed.

Cosmetics aside, with new front rubber boots, I think these operate and would be usable as new though perhaps they have loosened up a bit from new (although that is not what my memory recalls). But if I were to use these I would replace the front rubber boots. One has a crack about a half inch long and the other is about an inch. These are where the boot flexes with use, so it might expose the shocks to dirt, although I couldn't see any when I removed them so perhaps a good rubber glue would be sufficient. I know it works wonders on old NOS LJet hoses.

I have new Bilsteins with my lowering springs and I also think the ride is a bit stiff - I'd be all over these if I didn't have to remove/replace all over again. Here's to hoping they soften up some...

NO offense Jan but that sometimes is a very foolish move...

Jan,

Eight days ago I asked a seller on ebay for his "Buy it Now" price for a pair of Vintage Triumph Motorcycle Tank Badges... He had them listed starting at $2 with no reserve....

He said the exactly same thing you said... I won the auction for $2.35... I would have paid him $80!... The same thing happened on a Vintage watch... "Let the auction run" the guy said, I bought his $500 watch for $39 because no one else bid...

Original Tank Badges for Triumph
Item condition: Used
Ended: Apr 03, 201218:25:00 PDT
Winning bid: US $2.35

Remember these are used shocks that are still available new from LaJolla for around $400...

I think that it is smart to set a Buy it Now price that is fair and sometimes you will be in a much better place at the end...

Buy it Now

You are probably right but I don't know what to quote for Buy it Now.

I am well aware of the $400 shocks from LaJolla, that is what I put on my car!
I support Carl every chance I get. He is great.

I am not knowledgeable enough to understand the exact differences between the new parts from Carl and those on offer but I can offer an opinion on how they feel on my car and share the part number info which is all I have.

Thanks again for your interest and suggestions.

Jan, I think what exec means is put your Buy It Now price at 299.00+shipping and you never know someone thinks he is getting a steal?I think all of us here have a limit to what we will pay for used set with 60K so bid it up to your amount and let it go.Thanks for posting. Tim

Hard to say. I offered him $150 cash locally, and it closed at $155.
