Bl;aupunkt Radio

Style

I think they varied according to the dealer as these were options installled by the dealer
so anyone would work threretically
mine a 74 is the becker "grandprix" stereo and is most likely the nicest loking one simple and elegant there are a bunch on ebay

In late '74 we purchased our '72 Bavaria. I don't remember what radio it had but I did a replacement with a Craig cassette probably in early '75. As I recall that was the latest thing out then.

blaupunkt radio

that is an early blaupunkt radio that would have been used prior to 73. The coupes would have used a Blaupunkt Frankfurt and most likely the stereo version. If you look in the old orange parts book you will see the different options that were offered in terms of radios. The Beckers were usually only found in the coupes and bavarias. I have the Becker Grand Prix available which has the scan tuning (which was extremely high tech back then). I also have the Becker cassette player available that attaches to the Grand Prix via a DIN cable and is usually mounted below the dash or inside the glovebox. Until the advent of the new electronics it was very difficult to fit the cassette player into the head unit without the deck becoming too big for the console! Becker did do that with the Mexico model but not too many customers bought that due to price. Very vintage stuff!
