I have a 74 CS in Polaris. When I had darker grey rims (Ronal 14" semi Alpina style) I used the chrome hood and side grilles and it worked ok. Now that I have switched to factory 14" rims which are a lighter grey and the chrome does not work as well. Sort of the Japanese taxi comment I have seen on this board in the past. I'm not sure about simply going back to the flat black grilles, so I thought - black chrome. Has anyone here done black chrome on these grilles and how did it look?

not sure about which grilles are you planning to chrome
if those are the plastic ones i doubt that you can chrome them
if they are aluminium grilles you might anodize them, but not chrome them

The black side grilles are a satin with good shine to them, cheaper and easier than trying to replate.
