Hello,

I purchased this radio about 3 years ago to have an extra but am cleaning out the coupe parts and do not need this radio.

Period Blaupunkt radio, proper knobs for the E9, AM/FM with 5 presets.

$225 USD and buyer pays shipping. US delivery only.

Thanks again.

Not surprising.
Please don´t feel offended, but such radios go for about 5-10€ on ebay every day.
The only rarity are the original and now rare radio knobs that are specific to the E9 / E3 / E12 and 02 / neue Klasse.

If you need / want to get rid of it a more reasonable pricing might help.

Of course, feel free to ignore, just a polite explanation of a hesitant market.

Thanks Tierfreund,

Your sources might be better than mine but I looked for about 3 years for an "extra" radio in case mine quit working.

I scoured ebay, the e9 site, etc and when I found this one on ebay I was overjoyed. There are many other "period" radio's that I have seen from Becker, Blaupunkt, etc but it was very difficult to find this EXACT model, in working order with the knobs, to achieve a period correct configuration. I feel that the seamless look of this radio in the coupe is very nice and correct. Many coupe faceplates have been ground out over the years to accept larger and more modern radio's but all pale in comparison to the original "small" cut out in the center faceplate with this vintage Blaupunkt.

You might be able to find these "everyday" on ebay but I was unable. In fact, I looked just a few weeks ago on ebay before I posted this radio for sale. I was again shocked at the lack of nice examples and the price of the few that were there.

Thanks again and good luck.

It might very well be a matter of perspective / search scope. I guess there´s a lot more available on german ebay. Although it would be harder there to find the US versions (export versions) of early Blaupunkts (non exports go only to 104 Mhz instead of 108), there´s plenty around. What really gets high prices these days are original Beckers. Especially the Mexicos are highly sought after.
For anyone on the lookout, check german ebay:

Thanks Tierfreund,

I as well searched German ebay last night and again my thoughts and finds were confirmed.

There are many models that are close, but not exact. They are in the price range of 80-120 Euros which is about $120 USD to $180 USD not 5-10 Euros as you suggested.

The fact that mine is period correct for the E9, has the proper knobs, is stereo and for a US model coupe I think the price of $225 USD is not unjustified and is market correct.

Please note I did not find any on US or German eBay that matched the one I have for sale and most were in the 80-120 Euro range.

Thanks again Tierfreund for keeping me honest and confirming my research.

I hope no offense to my comments were taken. Your "honesty" was of course never in doubt.
I don´t believe in talking prices up or down, for cars or parts or "flaming" anyone for asking a particualr price.
I really believe that whatever anyone is willing to pay for anything is it´s price and that´s it.
So please, if you get the price you´re asking for I´ll be happy for you. And whoever buys it will be happy as well since he was willing to pay for this particular item.

I will freely give that this particular radio seems to be quite rare and my comments were directed only at "similar" but not same...

So I wish the best of luck with the sale.

We met somewhere in the middle so I would call it a fair deal all around. Item was shipped today, we are both happy.

Thanks everyone for bearing the multiple posts about this radio.

Thanks again.
