Thank you Dick and restart. Yes, has been a fun project for sure. Little British Cars have been with me since I turned 16. 50 years ago I purchased my Big Healey, a 1964 BJ8, and after playing with this Sprite for 2 years after completion, I realize that my first Healey is the one I wish to keep. I have learned a lot on this Forum on how to go the extra mile to really detail, and complete certain aspects of a restoration to better than what I would have done, say 5 years ago. The Sprite is such a small and simple car I could detail away! Also watching Dick and HBChris market their cars showed me how to present a car for auction. Oh, and get this, the fellow managing the BAT auction, is the SAME person from whom I purchased my Coupe when he was a BMW salesperson, 38 years ago!
So, if you have a soft spot for a little British car and can spare a positive comment or 2, please post away! Cheers! Mike

love the big healey. if i could fit in a sprite, i would like those too. i tried to test drive a MG midget when i was 17 and even at that age i couldn't fold up my body to get in. and when i did, i was looking over the top of the windscreen. the big healey i could slouch down to keep my eyes below the top of the windscreen.

Well Scott, I was getting used to the diminutive size of the Sprite, but once I put the hardtop on, I was reminded of how I just do not bend the way I used to. Plus, on any freeway, I am so small out there that I feel too vulnerable, but a great sunny day car for a drive to C&C and it gets simply out of proportion attention. It truly is an amazing little car.

well at 6'-3", and tall from the waist up (shorter legs) ... there are just some cars i could never fit in. most any supercar ... i tried to get into a mclaren ... didn't work well. i tried to get into Pete's M1 (at his recommendation) ... i'm too old / too inflexible to fold up my legs to get them in the door, but the worse part was sitting in the seat i was staring at the back of the sunvisor. both of those experiences have saved me a lot of money. i drive an audi TTS on a daily basis, and while bigger than a Sprite, it is small by today's standards and it can be scary when surrounded by big trucks + suvs ... because they do NOT see you.

When we were in England, I rented a Morgan three wheeler from the factory for a few hours. Because of a road closure, we ended up on the M5. To my surprise, the exits were quite a distance apart. It was very scary to be passed by the big lorries at speed.
That experience was compensated for by our map directing us onto a tiny paved road between hamlets that was only a few feet wider then the car. We were alone on this track and it was beautiful in the countryside.
