BMW 135 - A step in the right direction?

BMW released info about the 135 last week. I'll let a link do the talking about the model:

300+ hp in a ~3000lb package with OEM forced induction?

I'll take mine in white, with a tan leather interior, a 6 speed, no I-drive, in 5 door hatch form, please.

What do you guys think? Looks to me like a killer hot hatch.

Looks ok but difficult to judge the size from the pictures.
Is it a 2002Tii in modern clothes I wonder? I will probably stick to my Tii

It is supposed to be <30k in the states, so probably about 15-20k quid for you guys. I know you all have the 130i hatch right now, I can't imagine it would cost much more than that.

As far as size goes, it is supposed to be smaller than the 3, which would seem to make it about the same size as the E9.

Automobile Mag was saying there are plans for a M1 and an updated 2002tii. I think they did a pretty nice job with their retro stuff so far (i.e mini) so I'm interested to see what they do with the 02.

They managed to keep the 135 coupe below 3200lbs sans driver and 1/2 a tank of gas. Not too shabby. The 123d does seem pretty nifty though, as 55+ mpg is mighty tempting when tied to that much torque and hp.
