Found some cool vintage memorabilia going through my garage today. Hadn’t seen this stuff for over a decade. Didn’t even know I had them.

When I was a young boy my father was a computer programmer. After the Army, he worked at places like IBM, Bell & Howell, Honeywell, etc. I went to work with him a couple of Saturdays (he pretty much worked 60 or so hours a week). There were large rooms of "computers" - air conditioned rooms behind glass, with refrigerator sized reel to reel magnetic tape units. And there were punch cards everywhere. They were also all over our house. They became the default note paper. It's kind of funny how far the form factor has come. Sorry, back to memorabilia!

Punch cards. Geeze as an engineering student we used to write Fortran programs using those things. Hundreds of cards, had to wait all day for it to run. One character out of place and no go. Almost as frustrating as adjusting my E9 windows!

If you haven't seen this stuff in over a decade, you need to spend more time in your garage.

just not inside the dozens of boxes and shelves that have accumulated over the years
Isn't that the truth. A few weeks ago I looked high and low for my boroscope. Couldn't find it, so for $30 I ordered another one. Well today I found the first one in a box with some other things. Now I have stereoscope.
