Hi all,

BMW E9 3.0 CSi M30 engine and original ZF 3-speed automatic gearbox removed from my 1973 E9 CSi as part of a full restomod project.

The engine was running when last used but has been off the road for approximately 15 years. It has been dry stored since removal.

Engine turns freely by hand. Sold as an untested unit and priced accordingly.

Complete as removed including:
• Twin Zenith carburettor setup
• Intake manifold
• Ancillaries as pictured
• Exhaust manifolds
• Automatic flexplate
• ZF 3HP22 3-speed automatic gearbox
• Torque converter included

Please note: the engine is currently fitted with a twin Zenith carburettor conversion rather than the original D-Jetronic injection system.

Ideal for:
• E9 restoration
• E3 Bavaria
• Period-correct rebuild
• CSL tribute
• M30-based project

Believed to be the original 3.0-litre E9 engine, currently fitted with a period-style twin Zenith carburettor conversion.

£2500

Collection only from ME15, United Kingdom

Thanks. You’re likely right. I don’t know much about the original car. I have limited info and have opted to resto it.

At some point in its life it may well have been converted over. I’m still learning some of the history of the car myself as the project progresses.

I’ll amend the listing accordingly so there’s no confusion

What is the VIN on the motor by the starter? We know a few CSi may have been fitted with an automatic but it would have been a BW as the ZF was found on the 2800CS.
