Is anyone interested in aluminum doors for the BMW E9 3.0CSL?
A friend of mine has two or maybe three. If interested, I can take pictures

Yes, please do. I’m sure we can find a home for them.

Curious, anyone know the weight difference? Anxious to see what these AL doors fetch.

According to the BMW ETK the weights are:
CSL door 10.420kg
Euro CS/CSi door 14.000kg
US CS 17.200kg
I never actually weighted the door on my CSL street car. The fiberglass doors on my CSL race car are a lot lighter.

And the bulk of the weight difference are the skins......wow! Over 3.5kg per door. Dramatic difference to the reinforced US doors.

Don't take these as gospel, but indicative weights. Weighed at home, circa weights.

BOOTLID (steel) (never got around to weighing my aluminium one!)
outer skin - 8.25kg
frame - 6.75kg

DOOR (not CSL) (power windows) - circa 31kg (minus sound deadening on inside of door and minus door hinges)
A Frame quarter + glass - 3.75kg
door internals - 8kg
door main glass - 4.5kg
bare door carcass minus outer skin - 8.25kg
outer skin (steel) - 5.75kg

aluminium door skin - 2kg

CSL door also lighter due to the internal cross/reinforcing panel which is aluminium

steel door hinges (4-off) - 5kg
aluminium door hinges (4-off) - 1.7kg

power steering box - 12.5kg
power steering pump - 5kg
power steering pipes + resevoir - 3kg

manual steering box - 6kg

bare aluminium bonnet (no brackets, hinges etc) - 8.75kg

Hello,
I'm sorry. My friend says the doors are junk. Are rotten and (down) broken. And he say you can not sell them.
So no pics, no sale. I thought I've found some nice pieces.. anyway.. Sorry friends.

Does anyone know if the CSL’s had that strange lead weight inside the door behind the door handles?

I removed mine years ago from my CSI and found no difference.
