hey i recently acquired a bmw m90 and i was going to regasket it and throw it in a car, not sure if its gonna be e12 or e9
i wanted to do a cam and i was wondering if anyone knew what is the hottest cam i could go without valves hitting stock pistons?is a 292 possible?
what's the stock compression on a euro m90? anyone know where i could get the s38 its m30 adapters since i have the throttle bodies ? they used to be on eBay but have not found them again.

also head gasket for m90 same as s38b35?

will an e28 m30b34 bolt up to stock e9 m30 motor mounts?

wondering what is the max hp you could get from 38\38s with a built bottom and top end is 250rwhp with a hot cam tuned dual weber 38s, petronix, and a nice header?" i was going for stock intake sleeper look .

M90 head gasket is unique! B35 head fits but you must drill the small hole between each cylinder into the head or you will have a steam pocket, just went over this with Don recently. M30 blocks thru 88 generally have the mounting lugs, if not buy an adapter so not an issue.

probably gonna keep the m90 head for now and get the cam reground, but good to know about the m30b35 m90 differences

Compression ratio is 9.3:1. Only buy head gasket from BMW, unless you're prepared to risk doing it twice. (AMHIK)
I've done many m10s and m30s with victor reins with sucessful results but hey thanks for the compression ratio

I wrote a long detailed response to your questions.
After reading your last response I realized I was wasting my time. Here is my partial response for the record.

Duration of cam is part of it as is lift.

I can say without hesitation that the Dbilass 292 cam will cause 6 little smiles on the pistons in a fraction of a second.
With regards to Ian’s lament about non-BMW gaskets- I have 3 of those bastards sitting in a box at the shop. Each would piss water down the block even after triple torquing the head. The fire ring was so much thicker than the composite.

best of luck with your headgasket.

yes duration sure does matter and thanks for that info maybe ill run a 284 that will hopefully clear. I'm not saying bmw gaskets aren't better than aftermarket im just saying, ive done many head jobs on m30s and every single one was victoreinz and i never had one leak this is just my personal experience,
if i ever upgrade it will be to a mls with a big single
