BMW part number.please help identify

It appears to be a superseded part number in the neighborhood of the dashboard. The L-shaped trim panel that goes below the steering column, maybe? A description of the part in question would help.
 
It should be one of the sound deadenig pieces.I think it is in the engine bay.
