has anyone used Whitepost restorations in Virginia for rebuilding brake boosters. I called them today spoke to Billy he quoted $475 booster and Master cylinder combined! They won’t do it any other way. They give lifetime limited warranty.
Have you used any other place with good results ...
Cheers

I used these guys for my old Jag. $150 and turn around was fast and it looked brand new when it came back. Of course it worked great too.

Booster dewey are great people to work with and Work quality is excellent. But they don’t do BMW or Mercedes. They claim they can’t get parts they need to do it right..

I have a working booster that I pulled from my 72 3.0 to make room for the triple webers, if you are interested.

Seems like there is an ATE repair shop someplace in the South Bay. I sent mine to them and got the booster repaired for like less than $100. I'll see if I can find it again.

Edit: Try these guys. http://www.pwrbrake.com/

I also had Whitepost Restorations in my "favorites" for brake rebuilding but never tried them out

There is a guy on the e24 forum, Master6. He offers rebuilds for most hydraulics for older BMW like MC's, brake boosters. He also sells kits and instructions for DIY. I have not seen a single issue about him. I do believe he is an e24 owner who branched out because there was a need.

I rebuilt my brake master; it was not that difficult. A booster, on the other hand, I would not attempt because of the forces involved in holding tension on the spring while turning the case to open it.

I have used the Power Brake Exchange guys in San Jose for booster and master rebuilding on vintage Mustangs, as they are local to me. IIRC the booster cost about $120 and the master about $50 about 5 years ago. Can't speak with authority about what brands they can service so a call should clarify.
Coincidentally, when I was in to pick up the booster and master they had done for me, sitting on the counter was a box from WhitePost Restorations. When I asked about it, the follow behind the counter told me they do work for White Post. Not sure if they still do.
