to do this little job and as a preparation for the brakes major overhauling to come, i bought a bleeding kit and make a trial, not bad:

the system consists of a master bottle that is connected to the air compressor, but this makes vaccum (venturi effect), so you fix the tube to the bleeder, and open the bleeder while using the air compressor,

the systme includes a bottle that you fill up with fresh brake fluid and you place on the reservoir hanging from the hood

this provides you with unlimited ammount of fluid for the full car operation

old removed fluid

does anyone use a similar system ?

I just did this yesterday afternoon on my E46 Wagon using the pressure bleeder. Took 1 litre of fluid. I wished I had had 1.5 as I also wanted to bleed my clutch. I almost ran out before the fluid was flushed on all 4 corners, so it is good to have 2 litres on hand before starting.

I think it is about the same at 1.5 litres Although it took me about 3 litres of fluid before I got it properly sorted last time. I use a similar pressure bleeder too
