What do you do to the steel brake lines after they have been cleaned up?

Paint?
Metal conversion- a spray that turns metal black and prevents rust.

Other?

Thanks Scott, just what I need is more projects for the coupe.
Actually that's probably easier than cleaning up the old.
All I am doing is the two lines in the front that go to the caliper.
One of my pistons was leaking. The cup cover on one piston came loose on one side. Guess I didn't get the retaining ring back on all the way.
I'm also installing new shock/struts so all that is apart.

So if you do go to stainless I guess you make your own lines and fittings?

FWIW i put a light clear coat on the line from the fluid reservoir to the clutch master cylinder. Has held up nicely with no rusting.
