i see Marten protection for wires! Took me a while to realize what a problem they pose. We get rat damage in South Florida but thankfully not common.

I looked, my wire does not have the right angle, perhaps why I put it in a box.

The inside of my distributor looks like this

I don't know enough about what the insides of the different distributors look like to help, but I am pretty sure that somebody has replaced the points with a Pertronix Ignitor.
