In August I placed a large order with W&N. When the box arrived last week, my UPS driver was apologetic as the end of the box had been water damaged and the tape was destroyed. The end of the box was completely open. A number of items had fallen out somewhere between Germany and California. Working with the UPS website was impossible to start a claim.
I contacted W&N (Melanie) and she asked for an inventory of the missing items along with photos of the damaged box (below). Within 24 hours Melanie was back with the message that all of the missing items are being shipped, at their expense. What a professional outfit. Super prompt and courteous communication. If only other suppliers had this much integrity. Buy with the highest of confidence.

Agree, I have been buying a lot from them recently, they ship promptly and, luckily for me, so far no abuse from UPS. We are fortunate to have them.

Thanks for posting a "good news' story Paul. I think many of us have been "victims" of shipping debacles, wrong parts shipped, parts delayed, poor communication, etc. Really great to hear of a vendor who stands up for making things right! :)

I have spent many thousands with them over the years and had a couple frustrating issues with UPS shipments for my coupe at the beginning of this year (missing/damaged items). One box spent a week in China and another went to Alaska before going to KY while another box went straight from Germany to KY then to me. Same situation, reported the missing/damaged items and replacements were on the way same day.

I will say that they were pushing the limits on what might be acceptable for one box, but in the grand scheme of things it didn’t work out poorly at all.

On the subject, Schrick sold me a cam many, many years ago, correspondence by (real) mail.
Was mailed to El Salvador, probably ended up in Brazil.
The cam was lost somewhere. They sent another. I still have the letter from the chief engineer,
that had recommended the cam, still in a box for my racer wannabee.
Delightful to work with people as them :)

Regards, Alberto

i have had a few chewed up boxes coming from W+N as well, but everything has arrived. i have had a couple of things arrive incorrectly but W+N quickly resolved it as you would expect. overall, they are a preferred vendor ... if you order enough, the shipping cost is usually saved over the USA discounted dealer prices.

I have also had good luck with W&N...

On a side note, there was (about 10 or 15 years ago) a time when I did not go to them (or any other 'mail order') place for parts.
One day when driving - I had the driver side gutter rail trim fly off. Don't know what caused that - guess it wasn't attached very well from when before I got the car.

Right around that time, I had a friend who had just ordered trim for his 2002 and it came all banged up.
In looking at the profile of the trim piece I was wanting - it would be a pretty awkward package if done right or arrive as a mess of twisted metal if not - if it was to be delivered.
So - as the price for the trim was $60 at the dealer - I just did that....
To be honest - I was just happy the item was available in the first place and being as inexpensive as it was, just made that decision easier (to get it from the dealer). Plus - I have learned that going to the dealer every so often is a good thing for me as it keeps me in their memory (having the E9, E38 and E23 makes me stand out anyway) so you never know when or what may happen that connection can help with. If for nothing else, it was part of reason that when Seattle BMW opened up their new facility, I was invited (along with others) to have my E9 displayed in the new service bay for their open house.

W&N are by a long shot, the best vendor that I have ever dealt with as far as car parts/mail/on line ordering in general… I am always amazed at how well their boxes are packed.
When I was refreshing my 2002s I was always amazed. I would make an order on Sunday and I would get the parts on Thursday of the next week….
