sometimes the new ones don't fit. Hang on to yours just in case

Or just skip buying new ones and try to find better old original badges, all the new ones I've bought (from BMW) has been nothing else than cheap china crap that wont fit, and many others has had the same problems.
I ended up buying old ones in very good condition.

The base? The "BMW" emblem? Or both are crap for the repops?

Ah sorry, wasn't specific enough in my last post, it's the new emblems that are of bad quality. I bought new chrome-bases from W&N and they were good reproductions, same look and measurements as the original ones.

Hi everybody

It is sad that the currently available emblems and bases are of inferior quality. The original c-pillar badges are things of beauty; the later ones are not.
If you compare the originals side by side with the current ones they are markedly different.

For example I note that the bases for the current C-pillar badges are some kind of anodised aluminium, and not chromed like the originals. Side by side they are a different and duller colour than the original chrome items. They are also a lot lighter in weight (approximately 33gms against 68gms for the originals).

I, too, have bought new bases but I am not using them - I am having the originals re-chromed.

I'm not sure this helps?

I just bought a set that are from BMW Group. They are not perfect, but would do for now till I find a good original set. The base is Chrome, but with imperfections.
