C-pillar emblem with letters in brass

Hi,
does anybody know to which car this emblem might belong?

That is how the E9 side emblem looks like when you polish it long enough...The Nickel is gone and the copper substrate is visible

Don't think so. The base seems to be solid brass. No colour on the letters and outer ring, no overall coating.

I think I have one exactly like that, but then with shiny brass. Gold almost.
No idea where yours, or mine could be from.
