c-pillar roundels and frames

discussing about these relevant elements of the coupe´s style and discarding new repros including those available from BMW dealer (those where the blue is in fact violet), i have discovered four different versions so far:

roundel in aluminium, raised letters and painted, short studs unthreaded
roundel in enamel, flat, long studs threaded

frame in unknown material massive, chromed
frame in aluminium hollow, anodized

i do have some pictures:



anyone has more details about dates and so on for each versión ?

The raised roundels are 1974+. I know that BMachine has a set and although they feel kind of cheap compared to the enamel ones, they look quite nice installed.

My ‘73 CSI carcass has the threaded post roundels.

My 71 has the push type, Akin to the bad fitting repop (but of course fits).

My enamel ones with threaded posts I switched out for the '74+ raised letter smooth post. The raised letter roundels compliment the raised front and rear roundels well.

Exactly. The cloisonne ones feel really solid and high quality. The raised letters feel much lighter and, dare I say, cheaper. But once installed, I personally like them better.

Mine is an early 74 and came with the solid chromed frames.
