I am looking at a Getrag 262 , which is supposed to have come out of a CSL, my understanding is that the CSL boxes were close ratio?, there are two series of numbers on the box 262 0 200 00 R and 44195/8 any assistance from you Guru,s would be greatly appreciated.

CSL's came out with the same 4 speed as the CS's and the CSI's. They did have a 3.25 LSD standard which was an option on the CSI's.
Thank you, I was looking elsewhere last night and also read that the same Getrag 262 4sd was used throughout the E9 SERIES, Yes for some unknown reason I had it in my mind that the CSL came with a close ratio 4sd, oh well I stand corrected. I have a CSL which I am putting back together , the previous owner installed a dog box,and while that makes for a better driver, its not original ,so I guess I just want a 4spd to have in the garage.
I have a 4 speed that I saved for jabberjaws Owner. Gear shop said it was the nicest they had done
