Cam chain tensioner piston assembly

Hey all, just putting the chain covers back on after dealing with the normal oil leak where the covers and head gasket meet.
My tensioner piston assembly seems different to what’s shown in the manual.
According to the manual you should be able to take it apart easily and find a little non return ball bearing etc.
mine seems to want to stay in one bit, I’ve a feeling it’s a repro or new type piston which can just go back in and be bled as normal, but would be grateful of any advice before doing to. Thanks.
