Carbs Leaking Fuel

FWIW:
On my car. I plugged the half inch holes at the front of the weber. They vent right to the float bowl. So float bowl gas evaporates.(it’s been awhile but I think they are where I put a red circle on your pic)
With those plugged I can leave my car parked for weeks, even 6 weeks this winter and it fires after just a couple of seconds of fuel pressure.
Also, I don’t let my fuel line ever get higher than the carb float bowl inlet. That might halp with vapor lock. I see some folks install fuel filters and the engine compartment and the clip them to the firewall higher than the inlet.
Thoughts?

“don’t let my fuel line ever get higher than the carb float bowl inlet”

That was tuning the electric fuel pump. Not sure how that relates to mechanical fuel pump, as I haven’t used one in a few years, It looks like the outlet of the fuel pump might be higher than the carb supplies?
